Years ago, my mother used to tell our family she was going through “the change.”  She was constantly fanning herself and wasn’t always in the best of moods. Her menopausal symptoms wreaked havoc on her life.

Today, we rarely hear menopause referred to as “the change.”  We openly speak about the physical and emotional effects of menopause and are determined not to let these changes get the best of us.

Menopause is not a disease – it is a normal life condition. It’s very important to be aware and informed about the changes that often accompany menopause. This knowledge is essential to staying healthy throughout our entire lives, menopause and beyond.
