UTI's

The most predominant cause of UTI's is bacteria from sperm or fecal matter. If you are sexually active, be sure to wash your genital area after sex and urinate, if possible. When you have a bowl movement, never put your hand between your legs to wipe your behind and then pull the toilet paper across your genital area; always wipe by putting your hand behind you and drop the toilet paper after wiping. It is very important not to sit on the toilet while you flush after a BM or urinating. That will splash fecal matter and other bacteria onto your urethra. You should ALWAYS put the lid down before flushing to keep germs from the surrounding area, including your countertop. Move your toothbrush away from the toilet if you're not doing this.
